Your financial support is vital to providing this much needed service to the community.
You may choose to direct your donation to one of the five funds listed below:
We receive no government funding for the services provided. Adoption fees often don't cover the expense of sheltering, spay/neuter, food, shots and veterinary care for the animal. Ongoing support for the Operations of HSKL are needed.
HSKL must raise a significant portion of the funds required to complete construction of the new shelter. Your contribution to this fund at this time is vital.
The Honey Fund is designated to assist with extraordinary medical bills for sick or injured shelter animals. These animals could lead a healthy life following a treatment or surgery but would otherwise be unaffordable. This fund was established in memory of Honey, a one-eyed stray dog.
This fund has been named after Marj Owen, a tireless volunteer at the HSKL. She started the spay/neuter fund which contributes to the cost of spaying or neutering animals prior to adoption. Marj passed away in November 2008.
The fund has been established following a financial gift that was designated to be used for this purpose. We are always looking for ways to improve the life of our cat residents. Having better quality cages that allow cats to be housed together is one of the ways we can contribute in a positive way to their stay in the shelter.
As well, "In Kind" donations of needed supplies and fixtures are welcomed, and gifts of a value of $100 or more will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
Charitable receipts will be provided for all donations over $25.
